Chari is hiring a Senior AI Developer — commerce & merchant intelligence on the Data & AI team (Hybrid · Casablanca, Morocco). This is a hands-on role in LLM & generative AI—not a generic “AI enthusiast” post.

You will own LLM features, retrieval, agents, and evaluation end to end: problem framing, offline evaluation, safe rollout, and iteration from production signals. Success is measured with clear metrics (quality, latency, cost, or business KPIs)—not slide decks alone.

Chari is a Y Combinator-backed B2B commerce platform serving retailers and wholesalers across Morocco and expanding in MENA — digitizing ordering, payments, and logistics for traditional trade.

AI Developer (Casablanca hybrid): build demand forecasting, merchant copilots, and document intelligence for invoices and catalog data in French and Arabic contexts.

The role suits engineers who want product impact in a fast-growing North African fintech with real-world distribution constraints.

What you will do

Ship ML models for demand prediction, churn, and route optimization with measurable ROI.
Prototype LLM assistants for sales reps and merchants (catalog Q&A, order drafting).
Improve OCR + NLP pipelines on receipts and delivery notes with human QA loops.
Work with product and ops in Casablanca; document models in French and English.

Stack & environment

Python, PyTorch, LangChain, SQL, PostgreSQL, Docker on cloud infrastructure.
Hybrid Twin Center, Casablanca — collaboration with Paris and regional hubs.

What we look for

Production ML or LLM experience; marketplace or fintech background valued.
Comfort with messy real-world data (mobile photos, dialectal French, Arabic script).
Work authorization in Morocco; French professional fluency required.
