Talkdesk is hiring a Senior LLM Engineer — enterprise voice AI on the Conversational AI team (Hybrid · Lisbon, Portugal). This is a hands-on role in LLM & generative AI—not a generic “AI enthusiast” post.

You will own LLM features, retrieval, agents, and evaluation end to end: problem framing, offline evaluation, safe rollout, and iteration from production signals. Success is measured with clear metrics (quality, latency, cost, or business KPIs)—not slide decks alone.

Talkdesk is a global cloud contact-center platform — voice, digital channels, and AI agents for enterprises — with major engineering in Lisbon.

LLM Engineer (hybrid Lisbon): build real-time voice agents, agent assist, and knowledge retrieval for customer service at enterprise scale.

Latency, barge-in, and compliance (PCI, HIPAA contexts) shape every architecture decision.

About Talkdesk

What you will do

Implement streaming LLM pipelines for voice and chat with tool use.
Build eval harnesses for containment, hallucination, and escalation quality.
Tune ASR/NLU integrations and multilingual prompts (EN, PT, ES).
Partner with solutions engineering on customer-specific guardrails.

Stack & environment

Python, LangChain, NLP APIs, Docker on AWS.
Hybrid Lisbon (Avenida 24 de Julho).

What we look for

Production LLM or conversational AI experience; voice a strong plus.
English required; Portuguese helpful for local collaboration.
