Senior AI Developer — global news & trends

WOP360 is hiring a Senior Senior AI Developer — global news & trends on the News intelligence team (Hybrid · Boston, United States). This is a hands-on role in LLM & generative AI—not a generic “AI enthusiast” post.

You will own LLM features, retrieval, agents, and evaluation end to end: problem framing, offline evaluation, safe rollout, and iteration from production signals. Success is measured with clear metrics (quality, latency, cost, or business KPIs)—not slide decks alone.

WOP360 is a global news platform covering 195 countries — politics, economy, technology, sport, and breaking briefings driven by real-world search trends.

Senior AI Developer (Boston hybrid): build NLP and LLM systems that help editors detect trending topics, draft country-desk briefings, and surface trustworthy sources across multilingual feeds.

You will work with journalists and product on tools that scale from a single desk story to thousands of localized explainers — with clear guardrails for accuracy and attribution.

What you will do

• Design RAG pipelines over WOP360’s news archive for editor copilots and internal research.
• Build classifiers and entity linkers for desks (Americas, Europe, MENA, sport, economy, etc.).
• Integrate trend signals (e.g. search spikes) into editorial workflows with human review gates.
• Ship APIs and React surfaces for contributor tools — latency and citation quality matter.
• Instrument eval harnesses for summarisation, headline quality, and factual grounding.

Stack & environment

• Python, LangChain, OpenAI-compatible APIs, vector databases, SQL warehouses.
• TypeScript/React for editor-facing features; Docker on AWS.
• Hybrid Boston (Arch Street) with remote focus days.

What we look for

• 3+ years shipping NLP or LLM features in production (media, search, or content platforms a plus).
• Strong Python and SQL; comfort with multilingual or noisy text corpora.
• Editorial empathy — you care about sources, corrections, and explainability.
• US work authorization; Boston-area hybrid preferred.
