Senior AI Developer — Zia & enterprise copilots

Zoho is hiring a Senior Senior AI Developer — Zia & enterprise copilots on the Zia AI platform team (Hybrid · Chennai, India). This is a hands-on role in LLM & generative AI—not a generic “AI enthusiast” post.

You will own LLM features, retrieval, agents, and evaluation end to end: problem framing, offline evaluation, safe rollout, and iteration from production signals. Success is measured with clear metrics (quality, latency, cost, or business KPIs)—not slide decks alone.

Zoho builds cloud software used by millions of businesses worldwide — CRM, finance, HR, and collaboration — from its engineering campuses in India.

Senior AI Developer (Chennai hybrid): extend Zia, Zoho's cross-product AI assistant, and ship LLM-powered copilots embedded in CRM, Desk, and analytics with strict multi-tenant isolation.

You will work with product teams across Chennai and global offices; strong eval discipline and cost-aware inference matter as much as model quality.

What you will do

• Design RAG and tool-calling flows for Zia across Zoho products with per-tenant ACLs.
• Build offline eval suites (golden tasks, regression gates) before prompt or model rollouts.
• Optimize latency and token cost for high-volume assistant requests in APAC time zones.
• Partner with security on data residency, logging redaction, and model governance.

Stack & environment

• Python, LangChain-style orchestration, NLP, OpenAI-compatible APIs, SQL analytics.
• Docker/Kubernetes services; hybrid Chennai with flexible remote days.

What we look for

• 5+ years shipping ML/NLP/LLM features in production B2B or consumer products.
• Experience with multi-tenant SaaS, feature flags, and staged rollouts.
• Clear communication in English; Tamil a plus for local collaboration.
