Senior ML Engineer — mobility & delivery (Remote UAE)

Careem is hiring a Senior Senior ML Engineer — mobility & delivery (Remote UAE) on the Marketplace ML team (Remote · Dubai, United Arab Emirates). This is a hands-on role in LLM & generative AI—not a generic “AI enthusiast” post.

You will own LLM features, retrieval, agents, and evaluation end to end: problem framing, offline evaluation, safe rollout, and iteration from production signals. Success is measured with clear metrics (quality, latency, cost, or business KPIs)—not slide decks alone.

Careem is the Uber-backed super-app for the Middle East — rides, food, groceries, and payments — engineering hub in Dubai with remote-first teams across the UAE.

Senior ML Engineer (remote UAE): power dynamic pricing, ETA, driver dispatch, and personalized discovery for millions of trips and orders daily.

Careem operates across multiple countries; you will design models that generalize across cities while respecting local regulations and peak patterns (Ramadan, events, weather).

What you will do

• Own end-to-end ML features: training, shadow deploys, A/B tests, and monitoring.
• Improve geospatial and time-series models for ETAs under congestion and weather.
• Build GenAI tools for support and captain (driver) assistance with safety guardrails.
• Partner with data platform on feature stores and low-latency inference paths.

Stack & environment

• Python, PyTorch, Spark, SQL, LangChain for internal copilots.
• Remote within UAE; collaboration with Dubai, Riyadh, and Karachi hubs.

What we look for

• Marketplace, mobility, or ads ML at scale; MENA experience welcome.
• Strong experimentation mindset and clear communication in English.
• Eligible to work in the United Arab Emirates.
