Figma is hiring a Senior Senior AI Product Engineer on the AI product team (Hybrid · San Francisco, United States). This is a hands-on role in LLM & generative AI—not a generic “AI enthusiast” post.
You will own LLM features, retrieval, agents, and evaluation end to end: problem framing, offline evaluation, safe rollout, and iteration from production signals. Success is measured with clear metrics (quality, latency, cost, or business KPIs)—not slide decks alone.
Figma is adding AI across design, FigJam, and developer handoff. AI Product Engineers ship features used by millions of designers daily.
Senior AI Product Engineer (SF): LLM-powered layout suggestions, design-system aware copilots, and eval frameworks tied to user success metrics.
Hybrid SF — close partnership with design, research, and performance teams.
What you will do
- Prototype and ship in-canvas AI features with latency budgets under 300ms where possible.
- Build eval harnesses for visual quality, accessibility, and brand consistency.
- Integrate OpenAI and internal models via feature flags and staged rollouts.
- Write TypeScript/React surfaces alongside Python model services.
