Senior AI Developer — logistics & marketplace ML

DoorDash is hiring a Senior Senior AI Developer — logistics & marketplace ML on the Marketplace intelligence team (Hybrid · San Francisco, United States). This is a hands-on role in LLM & generative AI—not a generic “AI enthusiast” post.

You will own LLM features, retrieval, agents, and evaluation end to end: problem framing, offline evaluation, safe rollout, and iteration from production signals. Success is measured with clear metrics (quality, latency, cost, or business KPIs)—not slide decks alone.

**DoorDash** operates one of the largest on-demand logistics marketplaces in North America, connecting consumers, merchants, and Dashers with real-time dispatch and pricing.

Senior AI Developer (SF hybrid): improve **ETA prediction**, **merchant ranking**, **support copilots**, and **fraud signals** using classical ML and modern LLM tooling.

Impact is measured in seconds saved per delivery, support deflection, and marketplace liquidity — not offline accuracy alone.

What you will do

• Own features end-to-end: offline training, A/B tests, and production monitoring.
• Build GenAI tools for support and merchant onboarding with guardrails and citations.
• Improve forecasting models for peak events (holidays, sports) with causal analysis.
• Collaborate on feature stores and low-latency inference for dispatch-critical paths.

Stack & environment

• Python, PyTorch, Spark, Snowflake, LangChain for internal copilots.
• Hybrid San Francisco SOMA; on-call rotation for critical ML services.

What we look for

• Marketplace, logistics, or ads ML experience at scale.
• Strong SQL and experimentation culture; comfort with ambiguous product goals.
• US work authorization required.
